Bob's body is feeling it today! He's told me about 20 times that he's definitely keeping his day job. We spent the day screwing down the backerboard, taping the seams and then we started to lay the tile. Wow! We definitely don't know what we're doing....so, if it turns out, it will be a miracle! This will be my last update for a couple of days since I won't be able to get to the den until the tile dries (I know, I know, life will be a drudgery without these daily updates - ha!) Well.....cross your fingers!!

Good morning Angels! They're ready to secure some backerboard. Look at Bob....doesn't he look like his body is totally sore...poor guy.

Let the mudding begin.....it's looking good so far...now will it actually work??? We should have hired someone....never again!!

WOW!! Look at you guys - you are so HARDCORE! I can't wait to see the finished product!
I feel so sorry for Bob! Jim, Josh and Krystal have laid lots of backerboad and tile. They're experts now. It's a huge job. Hope you have a tile cutter and lots of knee pads! When it's completed, you're so proud of your major accomplishment. Next time, I want to try wood flooring that snaps together. It looks simpler. Hope you're having fun.
Bravo for the Tomlinson. At least Bob has some great help. You will appreciate it so much since you labored on it. In a few weeks you will have to let us know if it was worth it. Let the emotions, sore muscles and cripled fingers fade then tell us: Would you hire someone?
Good luck! Can't wait to see the finished project
Look at you guys! This takes us back to when we tiled our bathroom. It was a very small space and it was still a big pain! You will be pros by the time you are through.
Have fun!
It looks amazing! Bob could quit his day job and take this on full-time--he is such a natural! Way to go!
Looks like A TON of work...the back-breaking kind too!! But well worth it in the end, I'm sure! So...is this the first of your home-makeover type projects? When will you start on the firplace wall?? I bet Bob, Amanda, and Nate will be excited to be back at work/school...just to sit at a desk must be nice! :) Please post pictures of the finished work!
