First the good news:
On May 20th we took the kids out of school and headed to COURT...yep....it's official...Derrick is now legally ours!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW. It was a very quick ceremony. We heard "all rise for the honorable Judge...(forgot her name). The judge didn't even go up and hit the gavel....she just went over to a little table and signed a couple of papers. We had a little photography moment and that was it! I brought some cupcakes for everyone and so we just talked a little and ate cupcakes and 15 minutes, we were out of there. Boy has it made a difference on Derrick though. I can already tell a sense of calm has come over him. He doesn't seem quite on edge or over-analizing everything. This last 8 months have been VERY hard, yet very rewarding.A cute story....At breakfast the next morning, Derrick told me that Toby the dog was jumping all over him and licking him. He said, "Mom, I think Toby knows that I'm officially a Tomlinson now." Is that just too sweet?
The two extra kids are my niece and nephew....no...I didn't adopt two more....although, I would LOVE to steal these two cuties...Watch out Adam and Lindsey :)
Now the Bad News
I think I must need a little blogging break. I've kind of lost the "fun" bug. I know it will come back soon. So don't give up on me quite yet....I just need a little breather. A little prioritizing! I love you all and your comments have seriously kept me going. I can't even express how happy I would get when I saw someone left a comment...It's kind of hilarious (or is it freaky?) Anyway, now that I've said this, I'll be wanting to blog everyday...naw...but I'll be back soon :)

WOW! Congratulations on finalizing the adoption!! I am so happy for you guys and I love seeing the power of adoption at work. :) Enjoy your blogging break...I've taken a few of those in my time and they are always refreshing and theraputic, or something close to that. :) Hugs!

As for your blogging, I guess we all have to be patient and wait, then we will appreciate when you post something even more!
That is so great that he is legally, officially, and eternally yours! He is such a cute kid. I enjoyed his talk on Sunday and he later was asked to go up in front and answer some Q's about his baptism and why he got baptized...you could just feel (at least, I did) that he was truly happy about the dicision he made and that it was more than a "they're making me" or "they told me to". He has a sweet spirit that is very noticable.

And as for the blogging hiatus?? I totally feel ya... I've been kinda anti-blog the last month or so....I think that's what happens to me when I get way too stressed out. Hopefully your break will be a short one...please don't make us wait till the reunion to hear from you again! Until your return to the blogging world...have a great time with your new family of 5!
Ummm, Ive been a slacker too. I have good reasons - I promise!!! You will have to take a moment and look at my "future posts" I promise I will get them up!!! Congrats on the official adoption! That's wonderful news!!!

Julie I am so happy for you guys! I actually talked to Lindsey on the phone as she was leaving the courthouse and she told me the whole story. What a happy day! Derrick is such a cute, sweet kid. Can't wait to see you guys again...someday:)
Julie! I'm crying right now! Seriously. It was the comment Derrick made when he said the dog was licking him and that he must know that now he's officially a Tomlinson! I can't even imagine the turmoil he's gone through inside. He is so VERY blessed to be in your family.
On another note, when I saw that pic of Lindsey's kids I thought Amanda was Lindsey! They kind of look alike to me. Anyway, congratulations. You guys are awesome.
