Why do I tend to worship Deadlines!!

It’s embarrassing…but…I admit that I am not the most self driven person. I am lazy by nature and have a tendency to not finish projects or find a “skim-by” option. I wonder what will happen to me in heaven when the “time” table has been erased and I have all eternity to work on stuff. Will I just poof away??
A perfect example of my lack of self drive in my scrapbooks. For years, I have known that I would have to have a collection of items from Nate’s Scout Years for his Eagle Court of Honor. And for years, the photos kept getting stacked with other photos in boxes or in files on the computer. Well, the time table has now become critical….my heart rate is increasing, my eyes are moving at high alert, my brain is starting to smell like burnt rubber….feels like it’s ready to explode!! The court of honor has been scheduled for February 26!! I now have a DEADLINE!! Plus, besides that…people are going to SEE my project….argh!!!

Since the beginning of January, I’ve spent an entire day…no joke…8:00a.m. until 10:30 p.m. sitting in the den going through years of photos and putting 164 of them onto a “Nate’s Scouting Years” disc, I’ve spent another 2 days going through the web finding freebies and scout kit digiscrap sites on the web, then I spent another 2 days figuring out Photoshop so I can make ONE scrapbook page. That’s a FULL week on ONE page….that ONE page!!! And the page doesn’t even look that outstandingly great. What did I do to myself, why, why, why!!! :/ Hopefully, at least…maybe….somebody could learn from my mistakes!!!

Isn't that little bugman cute? Look, he's just barely taller than the door knob....awwww...I'm missing those days!

The page DOES look great. Has it been fun to take a week and go through all the pictures and put it all together? Don't stress about what you haven't done and "Enjoy the Journey". This is an exciting time for your fam. Does Derrick like Scouts as much as Nathan?

That is a WAY CUTE page!! I hope you don't stress too much... keep saying "this is fun, I'm so happy, I'm not stressed at all, I feel really calm, in, fact!" as you do it. That can be your mantra!!

Love your Christmas tree and post below. The pic of Amanda and Nathan at the rink is priceless. Derrick is so lucky to have parents that stick with him and love him through these hard times - enough to do the hard things too. I know it WILL get better!! You guys are doing an awesome job!!

I'm going to be just like you because my scrapbooking/organizing skills are GONE! A big sorry to my sons! Your page looks great though!

Okay, granted, he started scouting 6 years ago, but I am way impressed because the Court of Honor isn't until February 26th, and it's the beginning of January and you're already getting moving. I would seriously be sweating it out on February 25th. I think your page really is outstandingly great, and half of the week was spent getting organized. I bet all the other pages of your 164 pictures will whip up much faster! Hey, be optimistic! How fun is that going to be when you've collected and documented all of those memories! Half the battle is learning Photoshop. Help me! Remember my cry for help two years ago? It still stands!!!

What a page. I think it looks amazing! I TOTALLY disagree about the laziness. No lazy person would spend a week conquering one page. Nate has grown up so much. Look at Amanda in that cute ice skating picture...she dwarfs him now.

I don't get ice skating. It is painful! Just looking at the ice makes my ankles ache.

Your Christmas post is so funny. Poor Bob. That basketball thing looks cool.

I’m glad you posted a “real” picture. What a sad face Derrick has. You guys are doing such a good job. That is interesting about his mind.

That project was a total nightmare for me. Of course I found more pictures after the fact. So, you are not alone in this. My philsophy is that Christ is going to come before I need to have my scrapbooks done. Please?!

What?!? You have to have scout memorabilia for the Eagle ceremony? Nobody told ME that. Hmm, I'm sure I'll be working on that in the 9th hour, too. Who knows if Dal will even GET his Eagel, right, so why start now:)
Nater bug is way cute in his pictures (and still is. Do you still call him that or has he nixed that?
