It's General Conference!! I grabbed the camera and quickly poked around the corner to take a candid shot of just what our family is like during conference. For sure we have to be close to being translated - not! Notice....
1. House is a mess!
2. Nathan is sleeping and in a grumpy mood. (Hint: look under the striped comforter for the bugman)
3. Amazing Amanda is diligently taking copious notes....and representing the style of hair and dress of all of us.
4. Bob has Franklin Planner out for notes
5. Derrick has a "conference packet" to keep him busy and focused.
6. Blankets and pillows are the essential accessory for the day
7. Julie is overly sentimental and embarrasses everyone by taking a picture and putting it on her blog.
I seriously LOVE General Conference. I must admit that I even get teary-eyed when it ends on Sunday afternoon. I feel like a starving sponge that can't get enough water! The counsel that is given is sooooo relevant to my every need and I love the relaxing feeling of not having to prepare for something on Sunday.....I know the Sunday thing is lame...but TRUE!

I think that picture could be replicated in mormon homes across the country...We can totally relate. Only in our case, Nick is Nate! (just kidding...he tries so hard to stay away and he actually only fell asleep once! And, actually, I fell asleep once too, but we did wake each other up!)
Oh yeah...we decided to make pumpkin waffles like you guys do. We used your recipe in the reunion cookbook and they were AWESOME!! We LOVED them...so much so that we think everytime we make waffles we'll be using that recipe. Thanks!!
I agree - it's the best time of year! I love it. I get teary-eyed during conference, and it's always over too soon. I have to say, after years of dealing with noisy little children during conference, it's so nice that they're older now and I can actually LISTEN and TAKE NOTES! Your family looked just about like ours. :) And I also LOVE not having any responsibilities at church that day! We can stay in our PJs all day - hooray!
I am so with you! I LOVE to listen! Our house was the same if that makes you feel any better:)
It took us approximately 12 hours to make it through all 8 hours of Conference, between the kids screaming and having to play referee, and then phone calls because people thought they wouldn't be interrupting us between sessions, but little did they know we were behind in watching them. I thought watching them on DVR would help us do it more efficiently - not so!
Amanda is amazing - she makes us all look like major slackers. :)
We were in our PJ's all weekend too! Wasn't it a blast! I love the dollar bill!
So the second to last talk by Cook talked about Jeff's cousin Jolene and her son Scott who died right before Jeff and I got married. I bought an MP3 player and am too stupid to figure out how to use the thing so I cant put conference on my mps player. With all your note taking do you know what he said about Jeff's cousin? I had it on but didn't catch that part.
That's great! I love seeing the candid shots. Conference is always a great boost.
