Decision Paralysis

I just never thought this would happen to me. Bob's the one that can never make decisions and hates change. Am I just getting older or am I morphing into a Bob?? Our house needed to be painted- BAD! Bob just wanted to paint it the same color....how boring is that!! I figure...Here's our chance for change. I was pretty pumped because I wanted a "warmer" color...and maybe darker trim and gutters (because with all the rain...the light colors show mold...yucky!) The trick was that I had to get the right combination of house color and trim color. So, I bought some samples to paint the wall with...but, didn't like them....so, I bought more samples....and more samples....and more!!! I spent $50 in samples!!!!! I finally decided it was time to stop or else I would need therapy. So, as we sat in our chairs to ponder the beauty of my samples.....my eyes frantically scanned back and forth trying to find SOMETHING I liked.....then it dawned on me that I didn't absolutely "LOVE" any of them. So....with Bob sitting next to me saying, "I still just like the color we already have"....I relinquished....slumped a bit in my chair...it was true....why change.....so, I said, "OK...we'll paint it the same". So, after ALOT of money....our house looks EXACTLY the same...but a little cleaner :)

Should I leave a comment? ... or not? I can't decide. I love how the house looks. Good choice on the color. Love, Bob

I like your original color! We have white walls right now and they are driving me crazy! I think if you see the same color all the time the color gets worn on you and you want to change it! I know when we paint ours - prob in the winter - I'll want to change it a month later! Ha! I am so excited for the progress with the adoption! You could have a HUGE family soon - who knows? We are hoping the best for you.

I've had the same problem, but with a bathroom cabinet. I haven't spent $50 in samples, only talking to several people and agonizing over the decision, looking at paint samples, going through magazines..... I finally made a decision yesterday and bought the quart of paint. I hope I like it! I'm hooked on your blog now wanting to know about the adoption!!! Love, JoAnn

I loved the way your house looked when you first bought it...remember we were visiting right when you guys moved in? We have impeccable timing, I know. So, I am glad it looks the same...only newer and cleaner.

And Oh MY GOODNESS!!! The adoption process seems to be in the works again (after all those vacations!). We cannot wait to hear what happens! We are so excited for your family!

Hilarious. I do not have a decorating/paint scheme matching bone in my body, so I felt this post very deeply. :)

Where do you get all your energy? You must share some! You are so funny. Hey, it's a good thing you tested them all out...now you really know that you like your house color. I love little Toby looking out the door.
