Memory Lane Tag

1. As a comment (joyful journey thought) on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Thanks Angie for the Tag. Fun idea!

I don't remember how old I was - but my sisters were there - so prob 6 or 7. Playing in your bedroom with your pom poms and listening to you talk about dance. We were jumping on your bed and playing "cheerleader" it was fun

You were all so giggly and just thought I was the most amazing thing EVER!! I just soaked that in...hey, a girl needs all the attention she can get!!...even if it comes from a 6 year old- hee-hee. I loved it when you'd come over...you were like the sisters I never had! Thanks for the memory!!!!

The first thing that came to mind was a Christmas card (Tomlinson's always send good one's) she made many years ago when Nathan was learning to read. I think it had stick figures in it. I just remember it as one of my favorite Christmas cards, even after all these years. Are you with me Julie, do you remember that one. If so, you'll have to try to find a copy before I get there in August.

One of my first memories was when you were my one of my first ever VTs. You were so nice and threw me a baby shower when I was due with Matthew. I so appreciated that. I still remember the conversations. I just love you so much and you are just the most awesome person ever!!! :)

Jenna--Yeah!! I totaly remember that Christmas card. Ha-Ha I can't believe you remember that card! Oh my goodness I want to go and find it to look at it again...although...I think I'll avoid the whole Christmas boxes mess. It will definitely be the first thing I look for in December. You're the best...totally fun memory!

Tonnie--I have so many great memories of visiting teaching! I loved it when Matthew was born! I totally forgot about the baby shower--what a blast! I remember coming over each month to discover all the fun new things Matthew was doing...oh, the great times! I think you're amazing! Thanks for the memory!!

Okay, one hilarious moment for me was during one of our YW board Meetings where we were briefly discussing how us leaders could do projects for our own PP and LaTrease was going to memorize "The Living Christ" for hers. I countered saying I wanted to memorize the Book of Mormon for one of mine and you started just laughing at that and I joined too. LaTrease was giving us the eye to set a better example for the board members. It took so much energy for me to stop laughing because you had me going. Too funny!

Another memory was when you were Primary Pres. and had to talk to me about Jessi when she was a sunbeam. She was being disruptive and the ball was dropped to you to talk to me about it. You were being so careful not to hurt my feelings... it was actually quite humorous. =)

Margene...I do remember that...hilarious!!! You are ALWAYS making me laugh. So...hows the memorizing coming?? I think that if I'm sitting in a serious meeting...I should avoid sitting by you and Bob..oh my goodness!! I also remember coming over to your house. I was nervous but you made me feel right at ease. I left thinking, "She is an amazing mom!" The first impression was the right one!!

Amanda...I've always wondered what my children would remember me by...weelll...it looks like I need to get to work :) Ha!! The "Everyone up,up,up" is actually my version of a cheer and I don't know what I'll do when we don't have an upstairs. The shut-up song...well...that one we'll just keep between you me and Nate. I don't think I could ever duplicate it again...Ha-ha-ha!! Fun times! I love you soooo much

I have only known you as long as Adam and Lindsey have been married so my memory isn't has deep as some of your friends:) I remember years ago we were all at Lindsey and Adams for some event (don't remember), and you brought this amazing, yummy dish. It was a french toast dish with a sweet twist. Am I remembering this right? All I know is they were melt in your mouth delicious and that's when I knew I would always be eating whatever you brought to family functions:)

I don't know why that came across as anonymous. let me try this again.

I have so many great memories of you from when you were taking care of Sam. I loved the time you made sure I saw that Sam was dressed in Halloween socks and it was JUNE! (Thanks Gilbert). I knew you must be one hec of a child care lady the first time Sam didn't want to come home with me... he wanted to stay with Julie!

Stephanie...oh my gosh..totally remember those Creme brule french toasts....wow!! They were scrumptious!! I'm totally craving them now...but...I will control myself. I love it when everyone gets together. You have such a fun family!! Thanks for all the fun memories :)

Nicole...Ha-ha...I totally forgot about those socks. Oh, how I looked forward to seeing what get-up Gilbert would dress Sam in each day! I loved those days with Sam. He was such a cutie and always made us happy. Thanks for letting us watch him!! We absolutely love you guys!

Ha! I totally forgot about those days!! You were always so much fun to have over. We loved how active and happy you were. Plus, Amanda LOVED the extra attention. And...I soooo remember those animal cookies! They were the best deal EVER!!! I'll still let the kids talk me into getting them at Costco every once in a while :)

One of my favorite memories of your family happened in UT in 2002...can you guess?? The olympics!! Nick and I both admired how you and Bob made it a priority to take your kids to these "once-in-a-lifetime" events. You guys went all-out too!! Cow bells, pins, flags...how many events did you make it to anyway??

We were so impressed with how much fun you guys had as a family. Carson was only a few months old at that time, but we decided back then that we wanted to do fun things with our kids like you guys do. You know..."the family that plays together, stays together." You guys totally embody that!! We admire how you make the world a fun and exciting place for your kids.

Oh my goodness Jamie...total flood of memories!! You know, the funniest of all was the 2 events that we pre-bought tickets for ended up being snowed-out (canceled). We were soooo dumb because we sat there in that blizzard for hours both times...what a riot!! Luckily one was rescheduled and the other we were able to get our money back. Our kids were such amazing troopers. It really was fun. I agree that the family that plays together stays together. You guys are doing so many wonderful things together also. You are a great example to US!! Thanks for all the fun memories!

I'm not really "playing" but I had to leave one of my favorite memories of you: I remember when Landon would say "yes" to everything and evertime we would see you you would say, "Landon, are you ugly?" and he'd say, "Yes." and then you'd say, "Landon, are you dumb?" and he'd say "yes." and on and on. Ryan and I still laugh about that often. You are wonderful and such an inspirational person! I love you!

Bob and Julie said...

Oh my goodness Lisa...I just LOVED Landon's "yes" phase. But, reading about it....I think...oh my goodness what a TERRIBLE woman I am! Who would say such things?? It was just so hard not to resist. I will definitely be repenting big time of this! Landon is one of my favorite little boys!! Thanks for the fun memories!!!

Julie, Any time you were around was a fun memory! I remember when you were a new Primary pres. and Spencer's tooth got punched out by the girl sitting next to him. You and Laurie Hopper were so stunned and not sure quite how to tell me about the shocking event! Other memories include babysitting each other's kids, swapping lessons in our FHE group, Xmas party at your house, and of course, how I wanted to call you into YW and never could get you. (Notice how they put you right in once I left! Grrr. Just kidding.) You have such a fun personality and such a GREAT family -- just being your friend is a good memory to have. :) Love, Eliz

Bob and Julie said...

Elizabeth....ohhhh you just made me so sad again that you're far away from us!! We really did have some great times. I can still remember Spencer's bleeding mouth...something I will NEVER forget!! I think it was my 2nd or 3rd Sunday after being called!! Oh my I was in WAY over my head with that calling!! :) You're the best friend...thanks so much!

Hi Julie-
I found your blog through Lisa White. Its fun to read, and I'm so interested in your adoption process. I have a blog as well at blogspot: 2monkeys-2adults.blogspot.com
Anyway, on to a memory. The thing I like about you, is you always let people know where they stand with you. I remember being at your house for a meeting or something and people we getting chatty, but you had made plans to take your kids somewhere, so you booted everyone out ( graciously of course) and got your kids in the car ( I think you bribed them while we were there). Its been fun to watch your family grow up. I remember being Nathan's Sunbeam teacher? when he was so small. Yikes! I feel old!
