1. Flying the friendly and rule-laden skies.
K...so this picture is stupid....but....The morning after Christmas...We got up at 4:00am to hit the snowy roads by 5:00am. Note to self to remember that the economy parking is pretty much sold out during the holidays. We managed to slide and skid our way through the slushy snow and miraculously found a spot. But then, have you ever tried to wheel your luggage through the snow/slush???....doesn't work! This was Derrick's first time flying. What an adventure for him. He did great!
LOOK at that miracle!!! We got on the plane and discovered the SUN!!! We haven't seen this bright round thing for a few weeks now! Our trip down was smooth sailing but our return flight was a little different. We were delayed for 2 hours because of computer problems. Derrick had picked up some throw-up flu bug somewhere and so was entertaining us with running to the bathroom and asking every 5 minutes if he needed to throw up. Then, when we finally landed at home, we came to a dead stop on the runway and didn't move. The captain came on to tell us that we didn't have any steering so we would have to wait for someone to come and tow us. HOLY COW!! All in all....it sure beat driving 18 hours!!!
2. The Land of the Legos
This place is a definite place to go BEFORE your child turns 10. Not a lot of pre-teen and teen stuff to do. Although, as an adult, we were fascinated by the things made from legos! They created the most awesome models...and all from Legos!!
Nate just barely met the cut-off age for this ride. Just look at those LEGS!!! I don't see why Bob and I couldn't have fit into that thing . HA!! So, this is a sad moment....he is now officially 2 inches taller than me.
This is just one of those precious father-son pictures...awwww.... Then onto the crack-up side of the picture...Who do you think is heavier??
Amanda was a trooper. She has that talent of finding fun with everything...plus she's just so dang cute!:)
It's the entire crew!! We haven't been "ALL" together for 8 or so years now. We celebrated Bob's Dad's 65th and Brian's birthdays plus the remodeling/room addition of the homstead. It was a good "prep" for Derrick. This summer he gets to meet my entire family which is a bit bigger (and younger kids). I think we figured the poor kid has something like 64 cousins between the two families....good luck with all those names :)
5. The happiest place on earth....DISNEYLAND!
OH MY!!! I pulled the ole bait and switch routine....not quite the picture you were thinking of :)
I had serious problems picking out just one or two pictures....so, check out the 51 picture slide show below...if you even have that much time to waste :). The highlight was that we were there on New Year's Eve. It was officially the busiest day of the year. They sold out at 1:00pm and had around 75,000 people there. We had a BLAST!!! If you are planning on going to Disneyland during a busy time like Spring Break or the summer....CALL ME!!! I found this awesome website called ridemax.com We used it and were able to ride ALL the rides with very little waiting...even on the busiest day!

Julie! We were at Disney California on New Year's Eve...with Donny Osmond! Seriously. I was standing 10 feet away from him at the soaring over CA ride. But it would have been even COOLER to see you and your family. ;)
It was awesome to see your trip pictures and hear about it. It was rather difficult to read your comments with you color changes, though. Maybe you would consider lightening up your text color?
I am so so jealous! New Years would be so fun there! It's funny to see pictures in the slide show of Amanda wearing shorts and summer clothes - I'm even MORE JEALOUS about that! I am so glad you guys had a fun vacation and glad Derrick wasn't sick the whole time!
Wow!! I think that's all I can say!! What an awesome way to spend the holidays...doing fun stuff AND visiting family!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the picture of dad and son in the boat! So cute...and hilarious (because of your captions!)
We miss you guys! Here's wishing you guys an awesome 2009!
That looks like so much fun!! Minus the flight- i am so scared to fly. BUT SO FUN once you are on ground. SO fun for you kids! You guys are so fun!
What a trip! I'm so glad you guys had a fun time! I'm glad you got to escape the snow for awhile too!
