Forget Christmas....I think Nathan just found his new favorite day of the year! The April Fools jokes never stopped. It was like a kid discovering Knock-Knock jokes for the first time. Here's some that he totally came up with by himself. Maybe you can use them next year :)
1. Bob went into the kitchen and flipped on the light switch...but the lights wouldn't come on. He tested several different things all the while saying, "Hey...we don't have any electricity....oh my heck, what happened?" He decided to check the breaker box and found a little note taped to the switch that said....."APRIL FOOLS" Ha-ha-ha....I was soooo shocked at how clever this was. I'm still chuckling writing about it!
2. Nathan came home from school and after a couple minutes he started panicking and said, "Oh my gosh mom...I totally forgot that I have a band rehearsal today after school". He grabbed his trumpet case and then said, "Can you drive me? I'm really late. I'm sorry....I just forgot". So, I got in the van and drove him over. He got out of the van but turned back really quick saying, "I don't think anyone is there." I said...WHAT?? He then said....."APRIL FOOLS" Ha-ha-ha....I am still in awe at how great of an actor he is....Hollywood watch out! I totally fell for this one!!
3. Plus.....All day he would do those same little things like..."Mom, you dropped your pocket", "You've got some food on your shirt"......etc. He told me stories of everyone he was able to fool at school too. He really had a hay-day. I just can't believe how clever he was!!

Great job Nate! What I want to know now though...didn't you get even a little upset that you drove him all the way to school?? :) I would have thought he'd have stopped you before you left the drive way! He must be a dang good actor! Funny stuff!
Jamie....Ha!...yeah...the school trip was just TOO GOOD to be upset with...he TOTALLY got me!! All I could do was put my head back against the seat and laugh. Then on the way home, I did tell him he was a STINKER!!! I've NEVER seen acting like this...I'm telling you it makes me wonder.....hmmmm...... I wish I could have captured his smile on the way back...Oh my goodness....that boy is adorable!!!

I have a good one to get your cute son. Hopefully he doesn't read your blog before you do. Take some whole wheat spaghetti or you could use regular. Break off some little pieces and shove them into his toothpaste tube. By time morning comes the moisture from the toothpaste will have softened the noodles so when he goes to squeeze out some toothpaste it looks like worms coming out. Wheat noodles are great because it is brown.
Don't give him this one, but this was the biggest prank Rick and I got last year, and the best one anyone has done to us yet. (We stayed over at my parents for the weekend, April Fools was on a Sunday last year).
We were leaving, and walked out to our car, however it was gone! We ran inside thinking to call the police. My mom and dad starting going along with the whole thing. As we were about to call 911 to report a stolen car, our parents gave in and said, "april fools" they stole the keys in the middle of the night, moved the car to the firestation, then toiletpapered the inside and out. We were really fooled for sure!
Hope Nathan never does that one to you! but I got to say, the band practice is a hit!
And I don't want to give Rick any ideas with the lights, but maybe I could pull that one on him next year!
AHA!! These are good ones!! I'm definitely keeping them for next year! If this boy continues his streak, I'm going to have to keep a list of some good ones to get back!! You guys are the BEST!! Ha!!
Nate is my new best friend, I LOVE April fools! Paul is the WORSE person to play a joke on...he takes it so personally. This year was a disaster...let's just say Paul didn't talk to me for a few days. It was the classic "I'm pregnant"...he fell for it (which I didn't think he would). Anyway, it's over now. Next year I will have to call Nate for some ideas!
