WHAT THE........????

WE GOT ROBBED!!!!
No, not really....we just moved our furniture to the garage so we could rip the carpet out....on to the "getting new carpet" phase of the never ending home improvement project. (Can you tell where our couches were? -ha!!)
Sooo..... here's a Family Home Evening idea for you....I'm thinking I should submit it to the Ensign :)

Lesson....watch the NCAA championship game.

Activity.....rip up the carpet in your house! (this is especially fun for young boys!) Hey look...you can kind of see our latest tile experiment....when it's all finished, I'll get a "real"
picture up...promise!

Treat....eat DUST and CARPET PAD PARTICLES!!! Looking at this picture, you might wonder...."what in the world kind of low quality camera do they have???" The dots are dust and carpet pad particles! Can you believe that?? We should have been wearing masks!! I wonder what kind of damage we just did to our lungs!
There you have it....guaranteed to bring your family closer and your home more enjoyable. For sure you will have a LOVELY and welcoming home to enter into the next day :) Boy, if noone used me as a role model for raising kids before...for sure they will now!

THAT is a fabulous FHE idea. We may have to borrow it... but can we borrow the family to go with it too? I'm not seeing Mylie being really enthused with that idea. I can't wait to come see the finished product! When's the next party?

You have for sure covered the important FHE criteria
Family togetherness:
-How to react in tense situations
-Hard work
-Why it is important to have a house of order!!!
-The treat may be a little off, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Follow up FHE idea:
Teach the kids why it is important to enjoy the fruits of you labors: Or course all activities need to be held off the carpet. You do not want to wear it out just yet!

Julie,
I just read your comment on my blog. Yes, I'm a horrible blogger, but I just updated it with pictures of the baby. I can't believe how much your kids have grown. Megan will be 14 soon. I'm still getting used to the idea of Stake Dances. I can't wrap my mind around driving yet. Scary. We would love to visit sometime. You are welcome to come up here and stay with us anytime as well. The kids would enjoy it. We also have an almost 11 year old boy. It was great to hear from you. Love your blog.

Julie, I don't have your e-mail, but I got a hillarious one about a girl getting her cast removed...I want to send it to you to show Amanda.

In addition to reading about the fabulous project going on at your house, I enjoy checking in quite frequently to watch the blue oyster cult video. "I've got a fever" too!
