The other side of my life

Ohhhhh the boredom! The mundane!!! The RUT!! I am seriously having a bluggy day. Some things just never go away....they NEVER end! Today is a day that doesn't have anything on the schedule until 4:10....and yet....can I do anything fun??.....NO!! I have the consequences of life yelling at me. Anyone ever wonder what my life is really like?....here it is in full color :\

The NEVER ending dishes! And look....I still have a Halloween decoration out....Mr. Frankenstein candy jar behind the faucet...how sad is that?!?!

More never ending delights!! Can you see that the top of the darks pile is almost to the top of the bed and the table (aka..cheap desk)?...blug!

The shove-all closet....another never ending. I organize it and within 2 days it's back to this....HOW???

How in the HECK do these get here? We aren't moving anything. Do my kids just walk on them and mark them out of spite? Moldings are seriously a never ending battle for me!!

The front of my fridge....I thought these little things were suppose to end after the toddler years. Not in this house....my windows look the same!! I was greatly deceived.

And through it all.....this is what my dog does!!

Talk about adding salt to a wound.....ohhhh the life of a dog!!

HA!....I just got this from my friend Nicole's blog.....a perfect comic for my bluggy day....bring on the challenge! (I can't figure out how to make it bigger...get out the binoculars) Thanks Nicole!! It's good being a mom :)

In the last picture, Toby looks at you like, "Why are you disturbing me? Don't you have something else to do like the dishes, the laundry, the organizing, or the scrubbing?" HA! Thanks for allowing us to share in your feelings. That's exactly the same stuff I've got over here! Best of luck to you! Some days you just have to say "Forget it." It will still be there later. But then, I always want to get it done before it gets worse. I have absolutely no advise or consolation for you. So sorry.

I love it! You're home has that lived in feel that makes people comfortable! If it's too perfect then is discouraging for the rest of us that just can't keep up. You're doing your job at helping others feel good!! Way to go Julie!

Oh the life! Maybe I should start taking pictures of my house! I started a load of laundry this morning, unloaded the dishwasher, changed a dirty diaper, etc. I would LOVE to just sit and do nothing for once! And the moldings...I completely agree! I don't understand how they get dirty all the time! The fridge handprints are a pet peeve of mine too! Once a year we get a free day, too bad its not till MAY!

I blame the dishes and the laundry. No matter what...those 2 jobs can NEVER be done/finished! I hate that fact! And when those two things get neglected...it seems like the entire house is caving in on me! Yikes!

I feel your pain! Good luck digging yourself out...and always remember that, if you come to my house unannounced, you'll walk right into the exact same chaos (minus the peacefully resting canine)!

Thought I'd share this poem (by "Anonymous") that I memorized from a saying on my mother's wall:

Some houses try to hide the fact
that children shelter there;
Our's boasts of it quite openly,
the signs are everywhere.

For smears are on the window,
little smudges on the door;
I should apologize, I guess,
for toys strewn on the floor.

But I sat down with my children
and we laughed and played and read;
And if the doorbell doesn't shine,
their eyes will shine instead.

For when at times I'm forced,
to choose the one job or the other;
I want to be a housewife,
but First I'll be a Mother!

I'm glad I logged back on tonight! There's just nothing better than some good ole sympathy and knowing I'm not alone :) And Jamie....LOVE the poem...thanks!

The day gradually got better...I decided to blast some Rihanna (sorry...but...some days just aren't Mormon Tabernacle worthy)....busted out some "julie-style" hip-hop moves as I folded clothes and loaded the dishwasher...it wasn't the prettiest of sights...but it got me going! I didn't get around to the moldings or the closet...too exhausted from dancing :) After I settled down...I worked on my seminary lesson for tomorrow...does Rihanna and Seminary lesson mix....hmmmm...oh the joy of repentance. Thanks for the pick-me up comments and for not judging me too harshly. I love you ALL!!

oh julie, my little supermom sis-in-law. your pictures made me feel very at home... my house looks like that 24/7 and i don't think that that will change for another MANY years! :)

i have been thinking of you guys a lot. we wish, wish, wish, that we could be there for derrick's baptism. for some reason, state employees have to work on that friday (after turkey day) and since john already got nearly a week off for christmas, there's no way that he would get next friday off as well. i wish that we could work something out. instead we're going to do a special "blog message" for derrick to check out on his baptismal day. don't expect much but we're working on something special... :)

i'm so happy for you guys and the addition to your family. i can't wait to meet derrick in december. we'll be there in spirit for the baptism. :)

Julie, I'm so glad to know you're human too... BTW, I LOVE your new family picture. We just had Lorraine do our pics in the same place, but I just did all white shirts. The fall colors look beautiful!

Hate to say it, but that makes me feel better. My life is all about chasing a whirlwind (or 2) of distruction. Although, when I got to the baseboards, I decided you must be much better off than more, or you wouldn't even notice! Gotta love a dog, (or do you?).

PS, I just read Jamie's poem and recognized it as one that used to hang on your mom's wall. I copied it down and sent it to my mom for a Relief Society thing she was doing- it was a hit! You're not alone.
